Tucked in the living landscape of Ardea Gardens, a traditional Irish stone cottage has been lovingly restored to preserve what makes it special —ancient walls, deep quiet, stunning views — and offer every modern comfort for a self-catered stay.
The house is perfect for a couple’s retreat with a generous open plan master suite on the second floor with a queen bed, contemporary bath, fine linens and sweeping views of the Ring of Kerry and the Kenmare River stretching west toward the Atlantic.
The first floor living room centres on a blazing hearth, with generous seating for long evenings and slow conversation. The fully-equipped kitchen allows you to prepare everything from breakfast to a proper dinner with new appliances, full kitchenware, reverse osmosis water tap, complete tea and coffee service and a dining table for two.
A gift basket will welcome you on arrival, basic pantry items are provided, and homemade jams and treats are available for purchase.
The stone walls are cool and sheltering on a warm summer's day, and on a rainy winter night, the perfect reason to light the fire and stay in. WiFi through the cottage can connect you to the outside world as needed.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement — we simply ask that they're not left alone in the cottage.

The two bedroom stone cottage is built for a couples getaway. The ancient stone walls are like a strong womb – divine on a hot day to come inside and cool down, or nothing better to light a blazing fire on a rainy winter night. Enjoy your own full service kitchen with fridge, full stovetop and oven, sink and needed kitchenware to prepare full meals. Gift basket of goodies on arrival. And you can purchase homemade jams and treats if desired. Dogs are welcome upon discussion but not allowed to be left alone in the cottage. Sleeps two with the perfect living room couch for two to snuggle and watch a movie. WIfi included. Smart TV only; laptop connectable. Walkin shower and toilet upstairs with masterbed. Parking for one car is available at the cottage Bus and taxi service into Kenmare is available … with ample shops, markets, restaurants. The cottage is heated by underfloor heating, radiators and wood stove. We offer only private accommodation and no refunds. A fold out cot can be arranged for an additional fee. ● The stone cottage has stairs to sleeping space and toilet and is not suitable for wheelchair users

We encourage visitors to use the cottage as their base to the iconic local sites such as driving the Ring of Kerry, Derrynane Beach, Skellig Islands, our local village Kenmare, the stunning hikes of Killarney National Park, the Gap of Dunloe, Garnish Island, Derreen Garden, Dersey Island, Bantry and of course the Ring of Beara (Ireland’s best kept secret where no tour buses can go!). We are happy to help point our guests in the right direction for day trips come rain or come shine.
